If you upgrade a contract their maybe migration fees,if you move from topup 350 to anytime 350 this is considered migration but the charges will only be revealed once you upgrade.mtn cannot tell you before hand .consumers will be supprised.Also beware OF DATA CHARGES on contract if you RECEIVE free data like 350 mb the data will be eaten up if you put more data,

Here is the lowdown though, any upgrade to a higher tier package is free anytime during your contract. If you are migrating down or parallel then you will be charged a migration fee is your contract is less than 24 months old.
So if you upgrade at 22 months they will charge you, if you wait the remaining 2 then its free of charge.
Can you explain how your data is eaten up? you should be getting your added bundle+whatever they were giving with the contract.
