To my utter amazement, MTN Anytine deals arent all that rosy after all.
If you take the 200 anytime, your out of bundle call rate is 2.85, anytime :( Ouch!

Still looks like VC has the best call rates, but they not giving much to you by way of phone.

i think it can be summarized as this

if you go with anytime mtn, go for the 350 anytime. Makes much more sense than the 200. If you think you will exceed the 200 or 350 anytime, then you will paying through your arse, out of bundle rates, but not as bad on the 350 anytime.
With these MTN packages you get great phones though, but your telkom, other network rates are a flat 2.35 or 2.85.
So I guess then, if you going to make more calls than the 200 or 350 then these packages dont make sense.
But saying that, VC's pay ins on their phones are hectic! So shi_te I dunno anymore. I finally almost decided on a phone, but now got to chomp on the freeking numbers.

Ayone got any advice about these packages and what or which contract (VC or MTN) u prefer?

Yes. I'm getting a new contract too and MTN Anytime rates are insanely high. It's like they took the highest Mycall 100 rate and made it the flat rate all the time. I know it's per a second but that doesn't really make up for it. Although comparitively you're paying a lot more now for the same phone on Vodacom. Personally I rarely make calls anyway, m uch rather have a better phone so MTN are the winners for me.

Yeah.... I was fighting with the sales consultant at the MTN Shop at Eastgate saying that the new contracts are more expensive and that I wanted the old contracts.

The only good things he could say was that with the new ones you are charged true per second billing and you now could do anything with your airtime

MTN's new contracts really took everyone by surprise. Their own employees only knew about the new contracts a week before the launch.
