It works - you can test it by sending to yourself. You should be able to send the free SMS by sending an e-mail from the em-mail account you registered with on the MTN website to the address [email protected]. This doesn't work for me - despite efforts by a MTN rep on the Forums - but try it out.
One can only send to MTN numbers, the number of characters are limited and SMS won't be identified by CLI on recipient's phone (message just gives link: from 083xxxxxxx reply to)
Well, I have been using the web sms service for a while and it has never let me down. As to the [email protected] - I wouldn't encourage anyone to try that. It has been a flop and never worked even once. I dont know whether it is just wrongly configured or if it has been discontinued.
What hapenned to [email protected] - Does it still work? I last used it around year 2000.
