So I got a SMS today reminding me that the 1c per second promo price plan is coming to a end 30 November 2014. Looks like they are not going to be extending it if they sent out those sms's. By the looks of it everyone on the 1 c per second promo price plan will be moved to MTN pay per second which is 79c per minute.
This got me thinking since 60c per minute is expiring how does MTN Zone per Second stack up against MTN pay per secon 79c.
I noticed that when you are connected to a 3G tower that the MTN Zone discounts are considerably higher than on 2G. I am on 3G and the discount is like 90% and when forcing it to 2G on the same sim and phone and same location the discount is 40%.....
Anyways what I'm trying to say is that MTN Zone might be slightly better than 79c if you make calls when on 3G. During the week though it is other way around. Only 30min of each hour is like 80% discount which means the other 30min is at premium rates.
** I just noticed thread title failed.... 1c a second not 60c
