MTN's 2021 network plans

MTN has invested heavily into its network over the past year, and it plans to continue doing so through in 2021.

"With major investment already made into strengthening and protecting its network infrastructure during 2020, MTN South Africa is again putting optimisation plans in place to ensure stability and high-quality network connectivity during the festive season - and working on strategies to enhance performance even further in 2021," MTN said.

The mobile operator said it has identified major avenues for improving its network over the holiday season as well as for 2021.

....to stop selling SIM cards to fundamentalist Isis and Boko Harem zealots and terrorists across africa?

To be honest. One of the main reasons of Vodacom still having far more subscribers is because of MTN not spending enough on their backup battery systems.

Therefore, when it's loadshedding, MTN customers have Vodacom as backup. Even MTN provides Vodacom packages to their support team because no MTN customer service agent can work from home when MTN is loadshedding

I am not joking. MTN did provide vodacom packages to their service agents.

Meaning they admit their network is useless during loadshedding

MTN spending way more than Vodacom with their capex budget but not maintaining the batteries is just pathetic

This is a friendly warning.

Like in the early days of Uber taking over Taxi business.
Airbnb taking over guesthouses.

If our local businesses can't keep up with the changes and maintenances needed to provide reliable, cost effective service delivery then it's easy for an international company to take over.

MTN - SpaceX Starlink is coming, brace yourselves
