Good day,

We as MTNSP would like to apologize for the lack of our presence please feel free to let us know what we can help you with and we'll do our best to deliver top class customer services.

Thanks MTNSP Data Hub
:)

Excuse the wry smile, but we have heard it all before.

Firstly you need to understand just how angry your MTN customers are at being ignored and/or abandoned by the previous representative.

Then, instead of asking for new questions, why don't you go through this forum and try to address the existing outstanding issues.

@ mods sticky please

I agree in a sense but also give him a chance.

@mods Maybe this should be a sticky for easy access if this is the real thing

Seeing is believing, i've had to many empty promises from MTN, not refering to only call centre staff but to managers where you escalate problems too, still waiting for a call back that would take 3-5 days, its about 3 months later. And i phone 4 times and these promises were made.

Farguaon,

Could we ask you to please advice as to what promised have been made, so that we can address these issues with the relevant department or managers.

If you would be kind enough to please pm or advise so that we can get onto this immediately.

Thanks MTNSP Broadband

@ mods sticky please

Any luck? need a stamp, sticky please ?

A question,

A couple of my friends use to play online local games(warcraft/dota) through their 3G/GPRS connection a couple of months ago, at that time they use to get minimal lag. However it is really pathetic on vodacom at the moment.

Can MTN provide them with a better service?

Tower upgrade request

Hi MTNBB

Will the cellular tower "Drakensberg" ever be upgraded, and how does one request this? Currently I get max 42.5 kb/s (5.2kB/s) download, and it needs to go a wee bit faster.

I can get 71.9kb/s (8.8kB/s) on Vodacom, but I would rather use the MTN service because I am 30m from the tower and the Vodacom tower is >15km away.

Regards,

OK MTNSP you need a chance. It's hard to kick a guy when he's being so nice & humble - in fact you so sound so sweet you might not even be a guy - but I digress...

Why don't you start by answering questions in the "new data bundles and/or muliple bundles" thread

To summarise those issues:

MTN currently provides the worst service at the highest price. When will they move up a notch to "worst service at a reasonable price"?

Im was trying to load a 1GB data bundle, and everytime i do, the automated voice lady says it has been loaded and the money has been deducted. But no money has been deducted and no data bundle loaded. To get past customer care is a bitch as they can not understand the fact that i have already let 30 days go by before loading another data bundle. When i did get to a manager, promises were made they will phone me back, and it never happened to date. That is about 4 managers i went through. Ill pm you my phone number.

Good day sir,

If i may ask in which area are your friends situated?

I would just like to say thank you to the MTN staff here at myadsl. I have in the past brought up numerious complaints and they have always been answered quickly and have always helped out.

From problems on my accounts, to SP shops giving bad service, to problems with my MMS (which I still need to go get my memory card swoped out for just dont have time :D )

So give them a chance they really are trying and also try remember that you are not the ONLY person on these forums. It does take time to get through everything and to get to everyone

Well with our GPRS service the theoretical maximum speeds you can get is 48kb/s.
However i have sent communication to the relevant department to find out when edge coverage and 3G coverage will be rolled over in the "Drakensberg". We will forward feed back once received.

I guess I'm off to a Vodashop for a new sim for my modem as a short term solution...

Hi MTNSP Broadband, and welcome to the forum ;)

Firstly, what you are saying is not strictly speaking correct. The speed you get on GPRS depends on the Coding Scheme used and the class of device. MTNBB has covered this topic already. Please see this thread :

http://www.mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=18923

Secondly, may I suggest that you take some time to familiarise yourself with the history of this forum, and what has been posted in the past. You need to guard yourself against posting inaccurate statements! This is some friendly advice - your presence here on this forum is very welcome.

Cheers ~

Oh dear.

This is exactly what will happen if Telkom ever decides to join the forum as a rep. They will get bashed.

Scrnscrm you've become a gatekeeper of sorts, haven't you? Oh well, at least someone here is able to dispense the requested info, even if it isn't coming from the actual SP.
