Good day everybody

I'm currently looking for a Multi-Region Blu-Ray player that can play Blu-Ray Discs from Regions A, B, and C areas, as well as DVD Discs Regions 1-6.

I'm searching all over the net for a good priced and good valued Blu-Ray Player which is being sold in South Africa. I'm aware that there aren't actually many being sold here in RSA, and most of them comes from American Retailers... or Ebay. But is there any suggestions of a player with the above requirements that isn't being sold in other countries or WANTITALL.COM (because their prices are ridiculous compared to either Takealot.com or kalahari.net)

Thanks yall

They are very rare. I don't know of any in SA. You would have to import.

Why not just unlock a blueray player? Would it not achieve the same purpose?

Unlocking a DVD player is easy once you do research and follow the given steps, but Blu-Ray Disc unlocking is more complexed due to out of this world security firmware which avoids jailbreak access. So yeah. I tried it, but no luck.

Not difficult: I have a Denon that does what you require.

Go to a "real" sound systems store and chat to someone knowledgeable - they will assist.

Ask the question on the AV forums website http://www.avforums.co.za/

Import from 220v or Bombay Electronics. I imported from Bombay. Make sure to search for coupons.

Or use a PC/Mac with BD player software and a BD burner, even by USB2. I can play all region BDs without changing anything. I use a Pioneer BD burner and Macgo BD player on Mac.

Bombay even includes a plug for USA/Europe to South Africa, free.

Doing research, i came across Bombay. However, i don't recall them shipping to South Africa. I made a quote on a player with the required personal needs, as well as the international shipping fee. No luck

Order via Ebay then. I bought in 2011 when they did ship to SA. I paid more for shipping though, it cost me $90 odd for EMS and customs here charged me a couple hundred bucks too. A $150 BD player now costs $35 in shipping charges and $50 in customs fees, and you get 5 day FedEx delivery.

There were probably too many thieves from SA ordering/or SAPO lost too many of their parcels. South Africa is rapidly becoming a country nobody wants to do business with.
