Multibay Icy Dock Drive cages (fitment)

I'm going to order one of these, but was wondering if anyone has one, and how fitment works, because arn't there little groves in 5¼ drive bays for DVD-ROMS,etc?

Thinking of getting either
DataCage Classic MB455SPF-B 5x3.5" in 3x5.25" Hot Swap HDD Cage


Or

FlexCage MB975SP-B Tray-Less 5x3.5" in 3x5.25" SATA HDD Cage

Just trying to see the difference between the two.

I have the IcyDock 3-in-2 model in 2 of my PC's and it just slides into the 5¼ opening and you can use screws to hold it (the fit is very tight in itself though) - no grooves, etc. Those grooves in the optical units seem to serve no purpose from what I can see; never had any case with the grooves that line up to these

The MB975 unit is really good - considering upgrading mine to this in the next few months.
