While the SD PVR is older than 3 years, I swopped mine out with Decoder Care at the same times as I got the HD PVR

SD PVR, DStv’s first personal video recoder which allowed to view two and record one concurrently. It was manufactured by Altech UEC and has XtraView capability with the HD PVR.

HD PVR (4 tuner) was the initial HD decoder, it’s was manufactured by Altech UEC and Pace. It allows the viewer to view one channel while recording an additional two channels.

When you swop it out, you get a refurb unit, so it's still older than 3 years.
