Bad news for people pirating DStv

DStv owner MultiChoice has been on a mission to tackle streaming piracy globally, with raids in South Africa alone resulting in the arrest of at least ten suspects this year.

According to Frikkie Jonker, the broadcast cybersecurity anti-piracy director at MultiChoice-owned Irdeto, pirates operate like sophisticated criminal organizations.

"Irdeto successfully identified and deactivated pirate streams attempting to use SuperSport feeds"

Now that seems practical and a less waste of time. Still won't lead to people not abandoning multichoice hand over fist.

This is such bad news for 0.000000001% of the population.

10 suspects? So 35 articles per suspect?

They're going to get sentences longer than government fraudsters, murderers and rapists. This is serious guys. Switch off those DSTV boxes. And since you never know if you could be accused of piracy by having a DSTV decoder, cancel that sub and burn that device, just to be sure. Scatter the ashes lest you be discovered and accused of piracy.
