Multimedia conversion. What's the best and fastest?

Mainly speaking of video files and so on.

What is the fastest and best video conversion utilities you've used?

It doesn't need to be free, but speed and efficiency is of importance.

I'd like to convert video to dvd and dvd to video.

I've used Nero Vision in the past to convert to DVD, but it's also a tad slow, but faster than DVD Flick etc.

I know I started a similar thread last year, but it's a new year and I bet new software is out.

convertxtodvd for converting your divx etc to dvd's with menus

dvdfab for everything else.

Also depending on your graphics card you could try either AVIVO or BADABOOM both of which are very fast because they utilise your gpu for conversions.

For slower but better quality try Fair Use Wizard

Nothing comes close to TMPGenc in my opinion. Worth every cent.

btw, for video to DVD I'd go for ConvertXtoDVD.

Convertxtodvd is fantastic although not the fastest solution I've ever used.
However, for me, speed is not really a concern and I like the fact that convertxtodvd is super reliable.
