Multiplayer games

Been of seen with regards to multiplayer games for almost 3 years. Have some time now and would like to know what games regular multiplayer's would recomend. FPS would be prefered.

Will be played on a locall network with only me and one other player.

So I am looking for a "Top 5" list to start me.

Any sugestions?

PS. Does not need to be a new release..

COD 4 is good with few players. I enjoy the Warhammer40k games as fun to play on a local lan if you enjoy strategy.

IMO these are the probably the most popular
There are still a few playing HF2: DM if you are into fast paced fps fun! DOD:S & 1.3 used to be popular but it sort of well away eventualy... was 1000 times better than CSS!!
