Multiple ADSL accounts on a single ADSL router

Is it possible to use 2 adsl accounts on a single router at the same time?

I have 5 pcs on the network.

They all use the adsl router as their default gateway.

Is it possible that I can configure a PPPOE dial up account on my laptop for a 2nd account, and force dial when i want data to go over that 2nd account.

Also, my laptop and the PPPOE account must not affect the other users using the adsl router as the gateway.

Has anyone done anything like this?

I use it regularly and it works a treat on our D-Link 2500U. Once you dial up from a certain PC, all the traffic from that PC uses the PPPoE dialup session, without affecting the other PCs Internet connections.
 
Depending on the router you have, there might be a few steps involved. On mine, I just set up the default account on the router, selecting "Bridge PPPoE Frames Between WAN and Local Ports" in the account setup. No setup on the router required beyond that.

Yes, it is called "Half Bridge Mode" ... and it depends if your Router allows it.

If you see it as an option under the modes in your router then select it... it may sometimes be called "PPPoE with pass-through"

You then set up the default account in the router which all users on the network will default to without them having to configure anything.

But then any computer can also create a PPPoE broadband "dial-up" connection to a different account with a username and password. When you dial-up to that account it overrides the default account on the router for that computer.
 
the options on my router are

PPP over ATM (PPPoA)

PPP over Ethernet (PPPoE)

MAC Encapsulation Routing (MER)

IP over ATM (IPoA)

Bridging

it doesnt seem like I can do it?
 
Which router do you have? We'll be able to assist much better once we know that.
