Multiple HDD's / usb setup

For those in the know, i am looking for something in this description. I have 5 HDD's in my PC, but i want to remove them and try stack them together and run through USB. So if you can imagine 5 usb HDD but without 5 power supplies and 5 usb cables. Does anything exist like this?

You also get SATA expanders / port multipliers. So you can go (e)sata to many sata drives via one cable. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Port_multiplier

They are relatively cheap and will be faster than USB.

Edit: Not all sata controllers'chipsets support them though.
