[SOLVED] Multiple Modems, 1 PC

I have the CellC E1820, works fine.
But i also have E220 i use with contract supplied by my work.

Problem is the E220 wont install / work on pc/ laptop anymore after E1820 installed.
Anyway to make them work together?

I take it you don't mean together, as in at the same time?

There shouldn't be a problem using them one at a time, the E220 should be detected by the same drivers as the E1820 and you should be able to use the Cell C dashboard for both of them. What do you mean by "wont install"?

When pluggin in the E220 it attempts to install drivers then fails - Data Card not valid (Win 7 x64).
E220 works fine on both my laptop running Win 7 32bit.
Is it not possible to have both plugged in at same time?

I've just tested this on Windows XP and the Cell C dashboard, it works fine. E1820 with Cell C SIM, E220 with Vodacom SIM. I think your problem might be the autorun on the E220 modem. Try disabling autorun, or hold the shift key while inserting the modem.
The drivers that come with the Cell C dashboard should work fine with the E220.

Is it not possible to have both plugged in at same time?

The Cell C dashboard does have the option to select a device, so it might work.
Update: Have just tested this, the dashboard gives you the choice of the E220 or the E1820.

I had a similar problem when plugging in my E220 as it had never been used with this installation of Windows before.

What worked for me was the following:

1. Open Device Manager
2. Locate the 'USB Mass Storage Device' belonging to the E220
3. Uninstall this device
4. Get Device Manager to scan for new hardware
5. With a bit of luck it will be detected as a 'USB Composite Device' and the modem and control port devices will be detected.

Working now, had to remove all drivers.
Re-install, disable autorun, restart twice.

Ya, that sounds about right!

Once everything has been detected and installed you should be fine, until you plug one of those modems in a different USB port.
