My understanding of 2 powerline adaptors are that they'd work as the ends of one network cable. When I add more powerline adaptors they start to function as a switch?

I have a Mikrotik HAP AC2 and I want to extend my WiFi with a second HAP AC lite that I want to connect to the main HAP AC2 with the same Powerline adaptor I'm connecting my fibre CPE. Because the connection to the AC2 goes into the WAN port, the AC lite does not work when I connect it with a third powerline to the AC2. Internet drops for a few seconds every 20 seconds.

Will it work if I connect a forth powerline to the AC2 on another ethernet port besides WAN and connect the AC lite to that? Can you put 2 powerlines on the same dual 3 point power wall plug?

The only thing MORE challenging than the explanation, is the actual network.

Powerline adaptors are KAK....

Why do people make their home networks so complicated?

1 switch
1 or 2 Ubiquiti UniFi AP's

Done...

Obviously cable is better especially for the WAN, but if you get a fourth, and pair the 2nd set it can work. So one set paired for WAN and one set paired for LAN extension. Right now you have created a lot of noise, and need to get the ac lite to tune out the fibre CPE traffic.

If im understanding your interpretation correctly,then yes it can work,BUT
You'd need to use the management software to change the Password/Key for the 2 sets,as thats what determines their "pairing"
Default keys = universal = all of them will connect to eachother

The OP didnt say what brand he has but most powerline adapters just work, even when you add a 3rd. However they usually have a formal pairing process, typically just a button. So press button on A, then B. After 5 minutes as its normally a 2 minute timeout, press C and then D. You now have 2 separate links.

Thanks guys! I tried it this morning and it is working. I've used another plug point to reduce noise in the same room as my main router. I've split the powerline adaptors in 2 groups with the management software provided. One for WAN and another for the WiFi repeater.
1 = Primary Router
2 = Extender
CPE = Fiber CPE
A = Powerline set connecting Fiber CPE to Primary Router.
B = Powerline set feeding the Extender

The Wifi was originally in the middle of the unit where my office was. Office was prompted to baby room. Now I need wifi in the new office (read TV room) and the bedroom opposite of the building.
