I have just purchassed an uncapped ADSL account from MWEB who is going to give me 4 Static IP's.

How do I configure the Router to route packets over these IP's to the correct machines.

Depends. What do you have as a border router/firewall? A Cisco? Linux machine? Windows machine? DSL router?

As far as I know, MWeb needs to install a Cisco Router at your premises. That router will take care of everything...

I could be wrong, but that's what I know with the MWeb Uncapped ADSL.

AFAIK this is basically the ISdsl system.

So you end up with a router and some IP's terminating on the router. The techie will probably want to configure the actual pc's with those IP's.

I'd recommend you let all the IP's end on the router. Use internal IP's with your network and only use the IP port forwarding for the specifc services you require publically. Makes far better use of the available address space...

Thanks

Thanks guys for the info. :)

They havent called yet. Said it might take 2 weeks.
Will keep u guys posted on how it ends up.

werewolf, have MWeb installed your Uncapped ADSL yet??

They installed at our office, and international sites are damn slow!! The connection is shaped like hell! We can't even do Windows Updates!

I recommend cancelling your order.

Pathetic!

Rather just purchase a 10GB or 30GB account from another ISP.

Godspeed.

if your paying what i guess you must be paying they had better set it all up for you and put a mint on the router when there done.
