And some people stil ask why I carry my 9mm day - day out? FFS this is South Africa 2016 we're talking about!

Not surprised, used to stay in a fairly decent area before I left and intruders were just shooting anyway that tried to make a noise or run and lock themselves away. There are no consequences for criminals and they know that even more so if they just kill witnesses.

All crime is up, don't care what they try say otherwise. When 80% of people from the gardener to the bus driver to the corporate bigwigs are all increasingly speaking of being affected, it's happening on a large scale.

And if they say their stats show 4.9% I bet you it's up at leadt 12%.
The way Saps reports is all screwed up and leads to "misunderstandings"

Nothings going to change unless someone changes something ....

So . post crime stats ... lets see whats changed in respect of policing ...... oh nothing.

The revenge of the Robben Island gang ......... bringing that prison feeling home for everyone to enjoy.

Problematic

That is what your murder is considered.

Quoted for truth.

I see every day how people are living in a dream state where they seem to think bad things won't or can't happen to them but when, through their "ignorance is bliss" attitudes they or someone close to them becomes a victim of violent crime they are shocked to the core. I then have to ask myself, "what country do these people think we're living in?!"

In SA it is imperative to be permanently vigilant, alert and aware of one's surroundings.

IMO some people have become too dependent/reliant on their security/armed-response. Don't get me wrong, armed response does have it's place and can be an important element in a overall home safety/security plan but I always find it strange how so many people would rather trust a complete stranger (security) with their safety rather than themselves.

Most level-headed people would never trust a stranger to drive their vehicle yet so many people would rather trust an armed security guard (stranger) with a firearm to protect their lives rather than go for training and own a firearm themselves so they can protect their own life.

Problematic

This.

Out of all the words to use the best he can come up with is "problematic".

It shows exactly why murder stats are where they are because these clowns don't give a flying f**k about what is arguably the worst crime. Essentially your life is worth s**t.

The only way to make a dent in this is a massive citizen armament campaign led by ourselves to try and distribute weapons and properly train as many people as we can.
The cops and the legal system also need to start playing ball. We need a streamlined court system that specifically deals with attacks on private property etc. and the law needs to be relaxed (e.g. if someone threatens you on your property, you shoot them, even if they're running away... zero tolerance)
That is it. Until we do that, have fun seeing the crime stats shoot up every year as the country circles closer and closer to the drain.
