Music: Cassette to MP3

I am looking for someone in or around Joburg who can take music off of an album on Cassette and digitise it, e.g. MP3.

The album was produced by a small artist, almost a once off I suppose. Never was big outside of the select group it was produced for. I am a little desperate for ideas or someone who has the expertise to do this. Given its importance to me, I am more than happy to pay the price.

I'm too scared to try it lest I stretch or damage the already fragile tape in the cassette.

Any ideas?

As mentioned above, if you want to DIY, then get yourself a tape player with an RCA output (red and white sockets on the back). You can pick yourself up double deck cassette player for a couple of hundred bucks at a Cash Crusaders or Cash Converters. Then, using a RCA to jack converter cable, hook the tape player up to the line-in (blue jack) at the back of your PC and using the red and white RCA plugs to the cassette player. Next, get some software and set it to record from the line-in source of your sound-card. A good piece of free software would be Audacity - http://www.audacityteam.org/

Let me know (by PM maybe) how it goes. I'd be interested to learn if this is a longer term option for all my other cassettes.
