I am one of those people that go the legal route with music buying and downloads, even though i am mad about my music.

I can upon a website that sells music and movies very cheaply. The website is www.mediasack.com. I would like to find out if this is a legal site or not?

Is there other music sites that are legal and cheap, as itunes is great but quite pricy.

Yes, it is legal. But what you need to find out is it legal to use it from South Africa.
Most of those legal download sites are restricted to the USA or a certain region.

I don't see any such restriction in their terms and conditions though...

The reason i asked is that i asked an artist thats songs are on the site if it was legal and his reply was:
"Hierdie MediaSack is onwettig. Ek sal nie aanraai dat jy daar aansluit of musiek deur hulle bekom nie."

Now i'm not sure, as i also through the T&C thought it was legal.

It's possible that the whole site is a scam, but then you can usually find that out by googling.
This site doesn't seem to have any bad reviews or warnings posted anywhere else (but then it might just be too new).
A good rule of thumb is, if it is too good to be true, then it is probably fake.
If the prices are outrageously low, then it is most likely fake.
Remember, the Media companies are notoriously stingy and don't like to license their music outside of the USA.
They want to force you to use existing local distribution channels... DTSV, or CDs and DVDs bought from major stores.

Your friend may be right.
But you should ask him how he knows that for definite.
It's good to be absolutely sure before you use your credit card on a dodgy site.
