One Night At GF's

So, we blazed. Then, we ate. Then, we played music. I played a song, she did. etc...

GS: KISS - Hard Luck Woman (she starts with a blast)

GGG: Chris Isaak - Baby did a bad bad thing

GF: Lady Antibelly - I need you now
(I mean, wtf? You don't go Chris to this crap. She knew I wouldn't like it. Oh, and she says "Don't go get smart now and play that Slipknot käk)

GGG: Big Country - Broken Heart (13 Valleys)

GF: Collective Soul - Heavy (Brings me down)
>>getting there

GGG: Boo! - Champion <-if you don't have this, you suck!

GF: some crap - couldn't care what it was

GGG: Echo and the Bunnymen - Bring on the dancing horses
(she says good choice and then...)

(So, as you notice, I am going alphabetically. I get to Genesis and ponder playing Supper's Ready. 28 mins of pure Gabriel genius. Then I just autocue something else)

GF: Stingray - Better the devil (...DAMN! She just outplayed me 6-love. And if you do not have this / know this / love this, you are a worse philistine than previously for not owning BOO!)

GGG: Hazel O'Conner - 8th day. Seriously I already had it cued. She told me I suck. She was right. Great song but way off direction. Lemme switch to manual...

GF: Bob Marley - Get Up Stand Up

GGG: MADNESS did a brilliant cover of Max Romeo's Ironshirt (aka chase the devil)

GF: Could you be loved - more Bob Marley
GF: Doobie Brothers - Great Train Running. Seriously her mac just started playing it. I even quit her itunes and we couldn't figure out where the hell it came from. I dunno. I will just play two...

GGG: McCully Workshop - Buccaneer (Something about GREAT SA originals that really gets me going)

GF: The hell with you playing two. Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young - Wooden Ships

GGG: followed up with Midnight Oil - The Blue Sky Mine

GF: Big Sky - Mr Green (back to playing SA rock)

GGG: Potti Mouth Smith - Because the night

GF: Jeff Healey - While my guitar gently weeps

GGG: The hell with it - this song came up in a Welcome thread and I am in an 80s mood so Rick Springfield - Jesse's Girl

GF: 29 Palms - Robert Plant. The song is all about Allanah Miles. The woman knows my weaknesses (Plant, not Miles)

GGG: Simple Minds - Belfast Child. Okay, I am two Gregness pints in and 4 hansas. Well, that made things a little intimate.

GF: If I were a carpenter - Robert Plant. She is stuck on that FANTASTIC album. Carpenter - as in Jesus, not starving Karen. I'd like to teach the world to eat.

GGG: We're on S (damn, I gone alphabetical again) and slayer is sticking out begging to be played. Alas she don't dig it. So, Siouxsie's Spellbound it is.
("is this shït Siouxsie? I wasn't a big fan. I prefer Cities in Dust" <- moves away to "rolling" table)

The rolling stoned continues...

GF: That plant CD still. This time, Colors of a Shade. I am 100% sure something is wrong - wait, that's it: iTunes labelled it COLORS instead of COLOURS as is stated on Plant's CD.

GGG: Steelie Dan - Hey 19. If she's gonna play like this, may as well jump in. Especially with the, erm, fine columbian.

GF: Adele - Love Song FFS, covering the Cure. That's two. That Lady Antichrist rubbish and now this tub of lard killing the cure.

GGG: F-f-f-f-f-foxy! The Sweet - Fox on the Run. With thanks to either Benji Moodie or Kevin Savage - whichever it was that introduced me to the Sweet.

GF: Skunky Nancy Boy - Charity

GGG: Temple of the Dog - Hunger Strike. Seriously, how can a band with joint vocals by EddieVeddie (whom I resemble) and Chris Cornell (whom GF resembles*) not be EXCELLENT. She went on now about how CC is better than EV. Lemme break the alphabet and go up there...

GF: More skunk. By that I mean Anansie. Although, the other is hard at work. Don't know the song. "I know 100 ways to be a good girl." Tried Shazam and it crashed.

GGG: Chris Cornell - Arms around your love.

GF: Some obscure crap. Shazam hit me this time. Hard. This song is taking forever.

GGG: I tried Tony Christie so she hit me. Quickly switched to Traffic - The Low Spark of High Heeled Boys. A long, slow number that just demonstrates Winwood's range.

GF: Stevie Nicks - Every time that you walk in the room

GGG: Cue the Ultravox - Dancing with tears in my eyes

GF: Rolling Stones - Gimme Shelter and then she sommer drops another - Sympathy.

....munchies: toasted cheese...

GGG: Uriah Heep - Gypsy

GF: Eyes without a Billy Idol pouting lips face

GGG: Warren Zevon - Werewolves of London. Everyone knows the tune - nobody knows the song. :(

GF: So once Woodie Guthrey. Then, Rage Against the Machine. So when Tom Morello joined up with The Boss, they did a BRILLIANT version of The Ghost of Tom Joad. Dammit - it just went into The River - probably the best song the Boss ever did.

GGG: zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz - it's bedtime.

* Only kidding.
