Musicians' thread.

anyone recommend software which can record a tune and then display it as sheet music ?

I don't need seriously uber stuff, just something basic that can take a single track from an acoustic or electric guitar.

Unfortunatley I suck at reading music(and writing), but I figure if I start putting down these excuses for tunes(3 or 4 chord combos which I forget after a week :D) , then I can start learning to read music properly and also then reproduce and possibly become something :D

I use GarageBand, but its a bit limited.

Record a tune, as in, from MIDI and then display as sheet music or record audio (as in WAV or whatever) and convert to MIDI and then sheet music?

If from WAV (from a mic, recording etc) you would probably love something like this: http://www.celemony.com/en/start

Gah this looks like an amazing monosynth. The ability to record notes straight into the sequencer is ace. Audio in processing. Some cool modulation options.

Great synth, I'm loving my Prophet 12.
The new DSI filters sound great, nice upgrade / new sound IMO.
