On the BB 9300 how do you turn off the keypad when dialling a phone number.

The beep tone a bit irritating.

V5.0.0.846

Thanks.

That process is not disabling the keypad tone when dialling a phone number : (

Have tried this on a few occansions.

Menu=>Options=>Screen/Keyboard=>Keytone=>Off

Hope this is not spefic to the BB 9300 model ! Any confirmations out there. Thanks.

Those are standard dial key tones, there is no way te remove them without putting the phone on silent. Those tones are universal to all phones. All of my cellphones and my landline have those tones.
If i remember correctly those tones are the signal to the network indicating which number was pressed, each number has its own town. Its the same reason you heard rapid beeps when dialing up your old dial up modem if the speaker was enabled.

I am able to turn my keypad tones off with my Nokia and Samnsung phones without affecting the DTMF tones (being sent to the network).

I have a BB 8520 and find the keypad tones when dialling annoying as well.
