Mbambo, a veteran actor who also appears on Muvhango, said the vicious attack happened on December 19 while he was doing a cellphone sim card swap at an MTN store in Brakpan, Ekurhuleni.

"I walked into the cellphone shop to do a sim swap but they were out of stock," he said.

"The consultant asked me to go and buy it elsewhere and come back so they can help me activate and Rica it.

"The consultant advised me not to start at the back of the queue when I got back as I had been there already.

"Upon my return, the queue was longer and I tried to make other people in the queue aware that I was not jumping the queue." he said.

Mbambo, who plays the father of Thandaza (Sindi Dlathu) on the SABC2 soapie, said while he was still explaining, a white woman complained that he was cheating by not standing at the back of the queue.

"I ignored her. When I was done, I wished everyone a merry Christmas. As I was walking out, this woman kept on saying 'k***, wie dink is jy (k***, who do you think you are?).

"I ignored her once again and continued walking towards the door. When I got out of the door, there was a young white man who was standing at the door and he threw a can of cooldrink in my face," Mbambo said.

He said the "young man" followed that with a quick combination of punches and landed a few blows on his face.

People can be real bastards. We all get caught up in our own schedules and our own little worlds and then everyone else becomes that person in the right lane doing 70. Well thank heavens she had the decency to use the completely acceptable 'k' word, that being k***. In Brakpan that's likely a term of endearment. :D

A word of warning though - do not mess with a whitey in a queue. You are screwing with the balance of the universe and you will be called out!

Just dont jump queues, regardless of what the teller says. Ive had a few say just come straight to me, i would rather go back into the queue to avoid the ire of the people still standing in a long queue.

There seem to be many people in SA that dont understand what queue means (give me now) and others that simply just do not care.

*I do not condone the actions of the public in this case

You do not condone?

Why is this only in the News now and What did MTN do?
Maybe the mall has security videos to nail them

Nope, if I spend more than half an hour standing in a queue and then when it's my turn they send me off to do something due to no fault of my own I will not stand in the queue again for another half hour or more - I still consider it my turn and will go back to the teller who helped me initially and wait right there till the person currently being helped is done.

My sagely advice is not to do it at MTN Brakenjanpan....

If you stood in the same queue, you paid your dues in time and effort, no need to restand.

i have jumped the queue in similar situations, always get death stares, sometimes a comment thrown my way. explain why and some people leave the queue because of similar circumstances.

ive also been told to go stand in the back of the queue again too.

i moan at the shops for not putting up a notice, so people dont waste their time in the queue. simple things. speak to management and they are as daft as the guy on the floor.

It is common courtesy to tell others that you had been in queue, too many people taking chances today. How the heck does the people in the back know that you had a reservation? I’m not protecting the attitude displayed by the Brakpan locals in the article, but that skipping a queue leaves an impression.

You skip the queue in my view then you are an utter arsehole, so be kind enough to tell the people in queue why you skipped the queue or had the permission to do so.
