Hey guys, will Routesentry route all local traffic through local hosts and int to int hosts?

No.

You will have to put those local IPs into the data file used by the app - manually.
(Unless you can write an app that intercepts the IPs and inserts them into the file)

It uses Steam.

In order to start MP, it logs into steam to authenticate you. Steam is internationally hosted, there is no one server for Steam (as far as I know).

You could play MP offline, but that would mean a LAN.

Dont you log onto the BF2 and COD4 authentication server before you start using local traffic as well?

Well it's like this.

This is essentially a P2P system. You'de have to have all other players' IP addresses in your local list.

This uses the VAC system, not Punkbuster (thank goodness). So it is constantly connected to Steam to kick the badies.

There MAY be hope for Dedicated servers in the future, allowing SGS to host a game - like they do with COD4 and COD5.
:)

Well we can only hope, you know there is so little to believe in nowadays, we live on a dark continent, things are bleak to say the least, a little drop of hope would go along way... :(

I can connect to battlefield and have my local routed through the correct account without having the IP address in my local routes file.

I would assume it works similer as if you are using Utorrent or something, I think route sentry knows wich IP's are south africa and will route it through thr right connection, while it uses the international to keep updating with steam, so i dont see why you say it wont work.

I think it works with Routesentry hey...

It only makes sense as I think Routesentry uses the SA IP ranges in order to create a routing table.

big w00p then :D

Awesome!

It does work with any app that can split local and international. I've been playing MW2 this whole week by splitting my local and international. I did make a post about it on the MW2 SA group.

Here it is :
Hey there. I have done some extensive testing today with an app called Traffic Splitter (from myADSL forums). Anyways what I wanted to test was if you can use local cap playing MW 2. Now heres the catch. You can only use local cap if the host is from SA.

Now this is a good thing. You only need international to sign into IW.net and from there on you can invite all your buddies from SA to your game and go crazy with your local account. Its a lot like the way BF 2 used to work with having to sign into EA and then use local cap. This should help a lot with the guys who are hosting and there shouldnt be the worry of throwing away your international at 200mb an hour.

....follow this guide http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php?t=201023. You will basically dial into two accounts by setting your router into bridged mode. You wouldnt have to switch accounts because the application does the local and international routing for you. As long as you stick to local gamers it will use local cap only (of course a little bit of international for communication with IW.net). Let me know if you need anything else. Been playing happily tonight on my local :)
