I would like to know if you are having any problems with MWEB?

Personally i have had no problems what-so-ever and it has been about 2-3 months.
I don't know why everybody is having problems with them?

Evening Mr Bond, I'm 007 cant find fault... lol...

The network is running well at the moment and your experience should be good.

I think the problems they're referring to is the throttling that happens on 60GB odd.

But don't worry, you think that's bad? Try WebAfrica. 2MB Home Uncapped & they throttle you on 51.6GB over a period of 20 days.

Leaving that poor excuse for an ISP.

I moved to Mweb from 02/02/2014 and got throttled on 60GB odd on around 18/02/2014. According to my dashboard view on Mweb's site I still haven't reached 70GB, but still the throttle persists. I'm already considering alternatives.

You know the 2meg premium account only throttles at 200gigs right?

After 4 years with mweb , it is time to give them the toffee. After hearing about the free speed upgrade ( 1 meg - 2 meg) i left a few games for a while as they were far behind on updates.. Got the speed boost, updated all four pc's , today i get the message " Your usage is currently exceeding these parameters and your connection is placing strain on the network. You will experience slower connection speeds while we manage your bandwidth usage. As soon as your usage patterns stabilise, your connection speeds will return to normal. "

Guess what after 4 years on a 1 meg premium and after getting moved up to a standard account then to be "capped" or lets just say throttle to 56k speeds, that is a bit much. Suddenly i have gone to a higher adsl speed with a limit, tell me again how was this upgrade to my advantage? I was told that if i want to have the same data i will have to upgrade my account to a 4 meg account premium , R110 extra per month.

No thanks , already nought a 1 gig prepaid from afrihost, tomorrow i nuke the mweb account , right now i need a replacement account of the same cost. Was doing R339 for data and line rental , any advice guys?

Thanks

Been with MWEB since before I had kids. My oldest is 14.
Never had any issues.
I went uncapped, the same week it became available, and I've never been throttled.
I'm currently on a 2 meg premium account.
Monthy usage is between 100 and 150gig.
Speedtest regularly shows my DL speed at closer to 3meg.

We have MWEB at the office. On a 4mb account. Got throttled on 350GB.
To below broadband speeds.
We will stick to the as the service we got from them was stunning.
Will just have to keep the Windows Updates in check and the downloads to a minimum.

Cancelled the account because i was being throttled after downloading only about 20-25 gigs. Called MWEB and they claim I have downloaded over 80 gigs. Disappointed.

Hi

Please drop me PM with your account info, I'd like to look into this for you.
It sounds like you have been looking at the usage for the current month and not the usage for the previous 30days.

mweb has a look at the last 30days (so its a 30day window... not from 1st to the 30th)

Normal ISP's renew your monthly cap on the first. Mweb checks your averages.

IS accounts use averages as well. Which I think is better as everything doesn't slow down at the start/end of the month.

If you wanna get your average down fast just get a capped account from another ISP to use for a day or two.
