MWEB 2mbps Uncapped THROTTLED account

Hi Guys,

I'm currently running a 1mbps uncapped account from MWEB and I love it. From what I know it is totally unthrottled.

now....I seem to have a 2mbps Telkom line (I didn't even know this till I checked my bill and router!).

so I wanted to look at the uncapped 2mbps options...I see that MWEB has the throttled 2mbps uncapped account that is some R50 more than the 1mbps account (as apposed to the "premium" 2mbps which is over R300)....has anyone had any experience with this throttled account?

at what point do you get throttled?

I'm no heavy downloader, I mainly use my line for gaming, downloading game updates, and the odd movie/Series download from American pay TV websites. I also work from home (im a web developer) so my line is very important for my livelihood.

my Main concern is that I don't want to have to download a 3gig wow patch, and then I wake up the next morning and i'm heavily throttled.

any direction or comment would be appreciated.

Take the premium.

From the experiences of people on this forum I'd stay very far from that cheap account.

I looked at it too, with the conclusion that I should definitely go for something else. I have been very happy with the 1mb offering from MWEB but the throttled account seems very bad.

I can confirm from experience (see my thread in this forum) that you want to stay far away from this throttled account. How it works is anyone's guess, and when throttling kicks in you will have a useless account for a week or more....

Afternoon DPJCPT, I'd advise you go with the premium package... That would be better suited to your needs
