MWEB 2meg or 1meg for gaming?

Hi.
I want to get a 1Mbps or 2Mbps line for gaming(Xbox-MW3 and Black ops 2 thats coming), which one do you prefer? I don't have a rooter yet. becuase I don't know which one is the best(R700 range) for gaming. I stay in Capetown. Also I'm not sure about the pinging thing, becuase ive read that no matter which line you choose for gaming, it does not make a differance. So do I choose 2meg or rather the cheaper 1meg?

The upload speed is the same on 1mb and 2mb currently. I'm not sure if it is changing when 384 k gets upgraded to 1 mb. If the upload on 1mb is going to be reduced then get 2mb.
