I am barely able to do anything but on my WA account I am getting 700k and up.
Is SEACOM still crewed?
Thanks

MWEB
International browsing and international downloading
Just finishing my DL's on WA will do so ASAP. Thanks
Been having similar problems on MWeb (although I didn't test any other ISPs) for the past two nights. International downloads speeds were about a third of normal (150kB/s instead of over 400kB/s) on a 4Mb line. This morning seems ok though. Last download I checked before leaving for work was going at over 400kB/s so maybe whatever the issue is has cleared.
Hi orin76
Please keep an eye on it and if anything changes let me know so that I can investigate.

Things improved last night downloads were averaging about 250kB/s. Just queued up a download this morning and it's coming down at about 200kB/s. It's an improvement, but things are still not back to normal.
Good morning orin76, what are you downloading? (torrents, http, news, etc.)
Almost exclusively newsgroups. I've done a bit of digging and it seems that I'm having intermittent problems maintaining connections to the mweb news server. Since I use both my international and mweb servers simultaneously to achieve almost full speed downloads at any time of day, the absence of the mweb server connections could be why I'm experiencing low overall speeds.
In other words, this might be normal speeds for international news downloads at this time of day, I just haven't experienced it before due to my use of mweb's news server as a sort of network teaming.
I've just tested youtube and gamespot videos and everything works at almost full line speed. Started a mandriva linux download from a server in poland and initial download speeds were above 420kB/s. So I guess my problem is probably normal shaping behaviour exacerbated by the problem I'm having connecting to the mweb news server.
In other words...my bad.
Edit: I think the mweb news server might need to be looked at though.
Are you obtaining any error when trying to connect to the MWEB news server?
