Hey all

Anyone here on MWEB 6Mbit Standard Uncapped?

Could you please comment on your usage/throttling?

I am on 6 Meg Uncapped Standard since mid November. I was on 4Meg Uncapped Premium until.

I mainly use it for Netflix and Rdio with the odd NZB download, and my current usage is 75GB for last 30 days. I have yet to be throttled though so can't give you the actual threshold.

Pondering going to mweb? Perhaps ask how the redundancy is.

He was with MWeb as far as I am aware. Moving back. Must admit to never experiencing downtime with MWeb myself. Never. When there were cable breaks we were moved over to the backup without interruption but obviously a slow down in certain services.

Yeah, that leading ISP never down

So i get home from work 15 minutes ago to find my internet is non existent, I then spent the remainder of that 15 minutes calling into MWEB to get a more accurate reason, so i still waited on the phone to find out why im paying for PREMIUM UNCAPPED that has no redundancy at all, we usto have? so im paying a "premium price" with an ISP that throttles their customers more than most other ISP's and now i don't even have the perk of redundancy?

Please can i have a technician call me and actually give me the real reason why im having to waste money on another ISP account to actually use my internet... This is disgusting.

I'm there... you missed me ;) As said.. shill detection on.

Of course :)

Feel free to peruse this forum. I have put extensive research into leaving MWeb. I have no loyalty to them so don't assume I do. I feel no reason to bullsh*t to get anyone else to join. If anything I should be chasing people away as it will improve my connectivity.

Of course Lance... of course.

YGPM.

I didnt know mweb has a 6mb uncapped version. Do you guys have the standard or premium version? I do a bit of streaming and mostly work related tasks especially during office hours. Downloads are mostly software or when I buy the odd movie or two. So not sure if the standard one would be ok?

Premium and Standard are the same except for throttling threshold. About 150gb for standard and about 600gb for premium for 30 day rolling period. I pretty much only stream and I have had no issue during work hours or after hours on the 6Meg Standard.

Tx :) I average about 30 to 40gb a month, so standard would be enough for me then.

This sounds like a good deal. Im fine with 150 gb per month. And at the same time you get smooth super sport streams if u a DSTV subscriber? How exactly does this rolling window work?

Can anyone vouch for this 6mb Standard uncapped?

The 30 day rolling window is calculated daily. Everyday Mweb will calculate your total download in the previous 30 days and if you are above the threshold, you will be throttled. If you are below the threshold, then you will be unthrottled.

I've been on 6 Meg standard since November. For me it's a choice of quality over quantity.
