Hi, I'm wondering if anyone can help me. We have an account with mweb, if I change to OpenWeb or Axxess will I still get to keep my mweb e-mail adress? we still need mweb as such but need a different adsl service provider. oh yes and can someone help explain whats the difference between Is adsl accounts on OpenWeb and the SAIX account? and do you first have to go through the international to get to the local or does the local automatically get subracted when on a local page? thanks alot everyone

Mweb has a thing were you pay a small amount to keep the email addr but drop everything else. About R70pm I think. Rip-off but some have no other option.

SAIX is said to be more reliable for intl.

How local/intl works depends on the provider but usually its intl first then local.

Mweb is a complete and utter ripoff for newbies such as yourself :(

They charge R145 a gig when most other isps charge around R70...
Also if you are wanting to keep your mweb mail - R70 a month or so - the cost of their dialup acc - waste of time in my opinion just spam mail everyone you know and make a gmail.com address (free and way better spam/virus filters than any isp - can also be setup to work with mail clients such as outlook/thunderbird) that way you never have to be dependant on any isp ever again.

Openweb is an ISP I would recommend - never had any issues - buy saix bandwidth its via cable and fast , IS is via satelite and slow.

You should only keep the mweb e-mail addresses for a month or two while you let everyone know your new address... and yes, gmail is a good option as you will then never have to change addresses again. Then you can give up your Mweb after a few months cos R70 a month for one e-mail address is a huge rip-off!

Wow I cant believe it, I just phoned mweb, we are currently paying 259 for a 2 gig account, If I downgrade to a 1 gig It'll cost me 219 per month. what a rip off. if I just use dial up(to keep the e-mail etc) It'll cost me 149. Mweb is such a rip.
