MWEB ADSL and XBOX Online

Hope anyone can help plse.

I am playing XBOX live via MWEB's Billion router and can suddenly not access XBOX live (still 4 days left on trial as a gold member on XBOX Live profile). When testing the connections via the XBOX (from the router or ADSL to XBOX Live) it complains about a MTU setting that is too low. This setting on the router is however larger (1494) than the requested MTU setting (1364) from the XBOX live diagnostics.

No technical person at MWEB can assist of give an indication of what I need to do. Everything worked 100% until a couple of day ago.

Try the following:
1) Reboot everything. MTU should generally be default.

2) try to set the MTU a little lower on the router (perhaps 1400). If the MTU allowed on the WAN link is smaller than the LAN side, the router may fragment the packet. Generally the default MTU is fine and it's rarely needed to manually set the MTU.

3) Most ISPs allow multiple concurrent sessions. On my billion router I enabled PPPoE with passthrough. This allows the XBox to create it's own Internet connection. Then set the PPPoE settings on the XBox. The Xbox will then create a direct connection to the ISP and no portforwarding is needed. (I use this so that my XBox connects to an Unshaped Account and my router to a Shaped account. My PCs connect via the router, hence Shaped BW which is cheaper).
