I have been a user of Mweb for many years. Am reluctant to change my ISP because I dont want to loose my email address- usual story!

Currently I pay R152 to Telkom and R245 to Mweb (ADSL 2Gb + dial up option) that equates to R397.

Is there any way of me taking a bundle through Mweb which you pay them the line rental and ISP charge - that is R219 (2Gb but no Dial up which is fine).

[Say the Dialup account is R49] - paying just Mweb the R219 for Line and ISP would equate to a saving of about R130 a month.

Any ideas if this can be done?

Their website is terrible.

Not sure I can get Telkom out of the equation and only pay Mweb.

Always have T&C's apply:

"Only applicable for new Telkom ADSL line rental applications with MWEB."

I forgot about a little snag, If you want to pay MWEB for your line rental with some bundle....you are going to sit without a DSL line for some time as it has to be a new order etc etc. Don't even Bother.

MWEB is stupid and Seriously overcharges you for the so-called service they give you. Drop all your accounts with them! Send them to the moon!!

Ag please man, Get rid of that 'houvas' that mweb have on you! Otherwise, here is what I would have done:

At the moment you pay for Dial-up+ADSL Line+ADSL Account.
Thats a Total of R397.

Drop all the accounts with them, and take out a Dial-Up account with them for R145pm.
Then get yourself an 2GB ADSL account with SAINET @R79pm.
Keep the Telkom ADSL Line rantal @R152pm.

Thats a total of R376pm :D

But I'd get rid of my mweb Email account though - move over to Gmail ASAP!

email address is no excuse. i think i saw somewhere here that mweb have an email only option. get that for a month. send an email to the relevant people advising them of address change. viola.

Shame mweb is robbery! The prices just make me sigh

Yeah - they do a reduced rate email only (with a couple hours per week dial up included iirc)

In the meantime get a gmail account and change your mweb's reply to address to that one so replies automatically go to the gmail account. Wont take long before you wont even need the mweb account. :)

On the other hand Mweb is giving free uncapped local . . . .

The mweb e-mail option at R55 a month is quite handy. I eventually went for that as I kept the MWEB account for e-mail purposes when I went for ADSL with a different ISP.

When you have had e-mail coming to an address for over 10 years and it is registered all over the place, it is not that easy to just drop it! These days my post-box doesn't get much mail, it is in my inbox. :)
