First off, i'm on a 4mbps MWEB line UNCAPPED!

I am in a total "confessional" state. MWEB throttled me on the 21st of July 2013 and my speed went down to 0.25mbps. My download from the 1st to the 21st was 68GB...then i was throttled. There was NO indication or warning...just a straight BOOM...0.25mbps here we come.

Out of the 3 ISP's i have mentioned above...Which would you recommend the best? I like downloading programs, drivers and the occasional movie or 2...I average about 2 Gig per day MAX...with the ocational being 6GB ONE day only ( it was SAM DRIVERS...that i use for computers...this i shall download basically once every 3 months )

I was SUDDENLY throttled on the 21st of July after having downloaded only 68GB for the month to a speed of 0.25 mbps...which in MY eyes...is a total STAND STILL!

Which ISP would you guru's recommend that can "better" this?

Are you on MWEN premium or their throttled uncapped?

If not on Premium just upgrade to that.

Get Openweb gold I do over 900gb a month

well i presume its the "throttled"-one...as i wasnt throttled BEFORE the 68 GIG...but i must admit...i do my stuff during working hours...as all my stuff is "work"-related..
I think you have a good point there...its only a R200 diff...Will i be able to download during office-hours as well WITHOUT being throttled?

Telkom Internet and I can pretty much get full speed at any time, definitely don't do much between 12 and 6am.

If i may ask...What does your data + adsl line cost you...inclusive?
and lastly...What is your bundle/package's name?

There is no throttling at all on the Premium one.

mmm...By the looks of it...seeing my line is STILL at Telkom...my best bet then is to go for the "Telkom do Uncapped Premium" @ R699....It doesnt say, but is this UN-THROTTLED?

Start reading the TI Uncapped thread from here - http://mybroadband.co.za/vb/showthread.php/369314-Telkom-Internet-Uncapped-User-Feedback?p=10791099&viewfull=1#post10791099

... for this months debate on TI Uncapped throttling policies :D
aaa *****....there goes the neighborhood...acording to THAT stats and complains...it seems rather to pay the extra R200 and go to Mwebs PREMIUM :erm:

...but on the OTHER hand...THAT tread doesnt state weather the guy was on PREMIUM or not...

400GB-600GB Per Month. Openweb Gold Original @ R739.00 Per month excluding line rental.

I was on the 4MB premium account, and in general the speed were very poor. Switched to Afrihost and my downloads are flying, so its not the exchange as this is the latest excuse mweb use.

Go with Afrihost Business Uncapped, R897 including ADSL line

+1.

This is a good alternative to TI, but TI is cheaper. AH has a good client zone that shows you if you're being shaped etc. though which is a big bonus, in my opinion - along with their line tool.

Guess that means you want to do more than 300GB/mth on 4Mbps then?
