Any reason why I can only access this via a proxy?

I have tested it again from our test Pc here in Cape Town.

Which means we are going through the same proxy and there should be no reason for you not to access.

do you have something like malwarebytes (sp) installed ? they also block sites.

Thanks for the responses. Nope, no malware bytes.
I have had this now for weeks, but decided today to resolve it.

Trying to access a room there - I may understand connection problems to a room, but to the main site as well?? Very strange.
Of course, going via a proxy website, i gain access to the room lobby, but i assume they have their own ruleset, not allowing an anonymous guest to enter rooms.

The search continues. Will post here once resolved.

Have you tried with another ISP like the free 1GB from Afrihost? That will sink or proof your question if MWEB are blocking that site.

Lol, glad it worked. :) Just figured this out with Carbonite that won't load in Opera for me atm for some reason, works fine in IE, but loads with Turbo enabled.

hmmm.... dammit, good find there Kalster. Never used turbo, thought it was a sales gimmick...

Opera Turbo could also be used to access websites that are blocked on a school or work network, because the browser sends the request to the Opera servers when using this feature, preventing the network from understanding which website it is trying to access.[8] This is a form of proxy and because of this Opera's browser is avoided by schools and businesses.[speculation?]

Not really sure. Don't think it would be as easy as that though... Don't use it myself either usually.

Mweb blocking website

It does seem as if Mweb is blocking my business website.
I'm trying for more than a week now to access: www.bannersbroker.com with no luck.
When I connect with my 3G or another ISP ADSL, I have no issues...

Come on Mweb, please help me access this site.

Regards,
Johann
