Hi Guys,

We are looking at moving from Afrihost capped, to Mweb business unshaped, uncapped..

Been very unhappy with Afrihosts lack of redundancy and connectivity to certain business critical international servers post seacom fix...

Can anyone verify that they are satisfied with this service?

Thanks!

I've been very happy with my company's Mweb 4Mbps business uncapped package so far (been with them for 3 months now). Unfortunately due to Telkom, we are only able to run at 2Mbps/512kbps and not 4Mbps/512kbps. Even while Seacom was down, I always managed to get close to the full 2Mbps with my downloads during office hours.

There was a few occasions during Seacom's downtime that Mweb screwd up with their routing to local sites, which only made the access time incredibly slow, but it was still working though. I've made a post a few weeks ago where I mentioned that myBroadband was routed via India, via UK back to SA at some stage on both Mweb business and consumer packages. They have resolved that issue reasonably fast.

After Seacom came back online, we've only had 1 occasion (that I know of) where the ADSL went offline for like 2 minutes.

While our Mweb connection was working fine, we've had quite a lot of issues with our credit card machines (using Vodacom/MTN sims) during the same period!

Back at home I'm running on Mweb 384kbps consumer uncapped, and I'm equally satisfied with the service from Mweb! While Seacom was down, I just switch to the @mweb.co.za realm (instead of using @dslmweb.co.za), which gave me a Telkom DSL IP address and I was able to have full international access while other ISP's couldn't provide international access to their clients!
