Hello

i need some help (hopefully from someone at mweb)

we have a business account, with 5 fixed IP's

i have linked one IP to a domain on the web for out outlook web access, etc.

Something wierd is happening today, where i can access it via cellc, but not vodacom or mtn, or from a clients site ( on adsl)
is there any issues?

Good Morning ijacobs3, please provide me your MWEB account details and I will do my utmost to get you the assistance you require.

i got to a client now, where i am unable to run a tracert from, their firewall is strict, :(

i have requested a tracert from one of the guys having issues

their firewall is strict, :(

That's probably why. OWA should run on port 80. This is usually unrestricted. So check that your access can go through a normal port and not an SSL one etc.

I'm not sure how you "linked one IP to a domain on the web". I assume you added a DNS entry for "xyz.example.com" to point to one of your 5 fixed IP addresses at work?

If so, you'd need to make sure YOUR firewall allows entry through one of those addresses (and not just the default one everything goes through)

If you need a technician, I know an awesome guy who might be able to help you out, the only thing I don't know is where Chartwell is and he's situated in Gauteng atm.

your assumtion is correct,

strange thing is , i have been using owa all week from this client, ( existing setup has worked for about 2 years with no issues)

this morning my ipad suddenly stopped connecting to our server(vodaskum), yet i can open it from my cellc card, and on my blackberry ( through the web browser), yet, on vodaskum , 8ta, etc it doesnt work ( sorry , i may be confusing everyone now)

i had a friend open the page from his vodaskum card in durban, and it opens on his side , which confuses me even more

OK

so , ping from working cellc

Looks like a routing issue from hop 197.81.146.2

that i see, but how do i fix it? is it mweb ?

if it is, why would the cellc work, and the vodacom not?

I've seen problems where bgp routers couldn't contact next hops, but this is stifling. One thing I could imagine is the traffic is being routed incorrectly for the outgoing response based on source IP

Get one of the MWeb business' network tier2 guys to look at the traces and check that specific router

Phone the business support centre, quicker to get someone on the line

Sadly , I doubt I'll be renewing our business subscription to Mweb, we logged this with Mweb officially on the 30th of march, both on email, and the call center, and to now, nadda, zip , quatt, and still no access via any mobile platform to our ip address, yet on dsl, it's fine, irrespective of the ISP... So what now? :(

Until today, when I phoned, no feedback, and the guy that promised feedback?!? Well , till now, nothing!!!

ijacobs3, I'm sorry you feel this way.

I am following up with the relevant department with regards to the communication between yourself and them.

Kind regards
MWEB Guy

Thanks,

I'm picking up some serious "flek" from out staff, who Have been unable to access their mail for almost 3 weeks :(
