Just wondering if anyone else had a problem like this. (maybe not a problem but mweb sucks if this is how they do business)

I mailed my cancellation form to mweb on the 3rd of this month. (2 days ago)
I received a notification that it will be canceled on 31 December.
What is up with that?
I know they say give 30 days notice, so I expect it to be canceled on the 3 December latest. I already don't use it (think the last time I used it was 3 weeks ago), nice of them to make you pay for 2 months more...
So, who else had to pay for a whole extra month just because they are full of ****?

Most work on calendar months tied to the 30 days, you will probably find that buried in the fine print somewhere. If you had given your notice on the 31st Oct your contract would run until 30 November. As you were a few days late it runs until 31 Dec. Fairly straightforward, really.

Yes, I know, but 3 days later, come on, really? Last time I canceled a mweb account it was on the 28th and they canned it 3 days later. (That was 4 months ago)

Who knows with Mweb, they say something, do another. Nothing new, same shyte, different day. :)

Should've planned better if you knew you weren't using it.

More a case of "I could not use it" as it was useless... and not my problem they send me the cancellation form on the 3rd when I asked for it on the 27th... should have added that on my first post...

Well then - I'd hold them to that - you would have gotten a reference number from their emailing system on the 27th?

I don't recall the agreement terms requiring you to fill in a form to cancel.

If you sent an email on the 27th saying you are cancelling - then you should be done at the end of November.

They told me I have to fill in a form to cancel...
And yes, I have a ref number for that mail, as soon as I mailed the request for the cancellation form you get that auto response mail with a ref number, going to mail them that now and see what they say...

Check the agreement - I'm sure it says you have to give a calendar months notice - which you did.

Not a calendar months notice by filling a form we'll take 9-days to send you.

Also - try hellopeter.

I actually said in my email that this is my notice - I will not be responsible for any delay caused by MWEB.

Damn, should have done that as well, hopefully they will see the mistake is on their side. If they sent me the form when I asked for it it would have been mailed back to them before the 31st.

I agree. At OP you can be lucky you didn't pay for a full month only to have your service cancelled ahead of time like what they did to me.

They do that to me and I'll refuse the debit order.
