Is there such a thing as a 200gb+200gb package? The website is set up like crap.

I'm moving away from MWeb to Afrihost, in my opinion Afrihost have much better pricing, and much more added value in the form of Afrihost plus, also much more flexible.

Reason I asked is because I was about to cancel my Mweb account(4meg premium uncapped) after being with them since dial up.
Once put through to cancellations, the staff member basically sweet talked me into trying out their 200+200 and promised to sort out the other issue too, which I had called in before about. Also messaged Mwebhelp here to no avail. Suddenly am on the new package and my sync speed is correct and it doesn't seem half bad.

however considering switching to axxess, same data but 10 meg line, similar price

Hi jammio, please feel free to PM me should you require further assistance.

Definitely switch to the 200+200GB.

Good call. I'm still fascinated by the fact that MWEB still get new signups in this day and age.

Are you referring to pricing? MWEB do offer good value, but then again you do pay for what you get, and for an ISP that one can trust to just always work at full steam ahead.

They advertise well and have PostmanPot to help with the indoctrination on this forum.

Plenty learned forumites use MWEB because they're one of the best ISPs. Certainly not deserving of the false lambasting yourself and others give them. Don't be ignorant.

Give it a rest. I left them because they were crap.

MWEB is not crap. If they were then they wouldn't have tons of learned, technical, regular forumites using them. But I'll happily listen to why you felt that way. So much for joining WebAfrica, who are terrible in comparison. It's no wonder you left them too. Yet MWEB still performs just like it always has, zero yo-yoing or ISP lottery with them.

MWEB is quality, and just always works consistently.

What a load of crap. Mweb had zero redundancy during the last Seacom outage. Also, my step-bro up the road from me is still on Mweb (premium uncapped) and he often complains about them. A few weeks ago he had to stop by with a flash drive to pick up something I'd downloaded for him as his internet was down.

Also, even if they were great it wouldn't excuse their pathetic customer service and cancellation policy.

Sounds very exaggerated. Can't be very learned nor technically proficient if they're willing to put their eggs in the MWEB basket. MWEB are absolutely useless, historically and presently so. And, this is me speaking from experience and not just random lambasting. Might want to target your pro MWEB rhetoric at the gullible and unsuspecting.

I would love to know how much they pay you. Been using an mweb account for the last three weeks and it's really not that great. Mid day I notice youtube streaming go for a ball of snot defaulting to 240p. Called their tech support once for an outage (yeah they are never down we know) and they told me to call telkom as they did not know what was wrong & it was not a line issue.

The only fanboy & shill here is postmanpot, guy has got zero credibility, he should be called out at every opportunity just like openweb so people know what's going on.

I'm understanding enough to not let let a few hours of downtime form the basis of my opinion. No one should ever throw all their eggs in one basket, and in this day and age there are plenty free/cheap accounts on other networks which are good to have, especially for testing to confirm one's main account is the best. I have plenty other accounts to mitigate a few hours of downtime a year, and do this testing. MWEB is the best and most consistent.

MWEB are not useless. Very learned and technical, believe me. I will always be pro MWEB and give credit where credit is due, Internet bliss for years means a lot to me after playing ISP lottery. People have been playing ISP lottery for so long. It's humorous how in 2016 some people find decent ISPs that give them a certain performance which myself and others have had for years.

Sounds like the Google Chrome issue, so you should try another browser. MWEB definitely hasn't been down, they never are, so you'd need to check your equipment or with Telkom.

I have plenty credibility, thanks, and I fight dearly for consumers in SA.

And FYI, I was one of the main participants in dismantling Openweb on this forum... Go figure.

I was with Mweb until they did the whole throttling thing. I moved to Afrihost's 10mb Business uncapped package but struggled with international video streaming. I tried contacting Afrihost many times and they gave me a test account to test my connection. That account solved the problem which proved that it wasn't my line but something on Afrihost's end. I was getting international speeds that were less than 2mb but local speeds was fine.

I eventually gave up and moved back to Mweb (10mb Uncapped Premium) and I could get max line speed both locally and internationally. Mweb made me jump through hoops when I tried to cancel my initial subscription but welcomed me back like a long lost friend when I re-joined. They even gave me a free VDSL (FON) modem, which I declined but they insisted that I take it. They contacted me a while later stating that if I don't use the modem, then they will be forced to take it back. Scary.

I have no issues with their line speeds and video streaming is perfect.

I'll gladly leave Mweb if I knew for a fact that another ISP could give me the exact same line speeds as MWEB for similar money.
