Why is it that with the Mweb's capped options they limit your speed to 1 mbit ?
I mean surely if I want to use up my cap quickly with 2 or 4 mbits then that's my problem and will top up where necessary.

I'm currently with Mweb's 1 mbit uncapped although I have 2 mbit ADSL now, but Mweb's 2 mbit uncapped is a bit heavy as a pensioner, so I'm thinking of going to a capped option as I never use more than about 10 gigs per month.
I see also Afrihost has a 15 gig 'open' package at the same price as Mweb's 'throttled' 10 gig package.
Also they have up to 10 concurrent sessions to Mweb's 1 ?
Another thing it looks like Mweb's top up is R200/gig compared to Afrihost's R29/gig
Am I reading this correctly or is my age playing tricks on me ?

Maybe it's time to move.

Hi ProAsm

Thank you for bringing this to my attention.
As far as I know we do not limit the speed of our capped accounts, you should be able to use those accounts and get the speed that your line is set to.

This is more than likely a error on the link, I have now escalated this to the relevant department to investigate.

Ahhh an Mweb representitive :)

Thanks for the quick response MWEB Guy and look forward to a positive response as I don't really want to move away from Mweb as I've been there since you guys bought out Stormnet (Club Internet)
Another question I have as I have written to your [email protected] and [email protected] (most recent being 18/09/2012) several times now in the past few months with absolutely ZERO response, not even an automated reply as one would get these days.
I am/was interested in moving my Domain and website ( http://www.proasm.com ) over to Mweb taking advantage of the 1 year free being an uncapped customer, BUT what will the cost be after the one year is up ?
I currently have 1 gig hard disk space with 22 gigs per month bandwidth at R85 pm, and although the server is in Texas the host is WebAfrica.

Send me your MWEB details and I will arrange for a consultant to contact you and explain the costs.

Not sure what details you want but my email is ben dot smit at mweb dot co dot za
You should find what you need there.

Thanks for the MWEB account details. I'll advise that you remove your MWEB account email from the public wall as you would not want to get unnecessary spam.

Thanks for the service.
I was contacted by one of your reps regarding my website yesterday and all questions have been answered, it's up to me now to think it through ;)
