I wanted to reset my ADSL password.
Don't see place on their website I can do it. So i email support.
Wait few hours (Now keep in my i need my password reset not next week now !)

Mweb replies:

All we can do is reset your password to the one specified on the attached form. In order to do this you need to complete a password release form which I have attached to this email and fax it back along with a copy of your ID document or driver license to the number on the form.

After receiving your fax your request will be processed within 2hrs.

Please contact us should you require any further technical assistance.

Sooo now i ask WHY IN THE BLUE hell in this day and age can't they have a paperless/call-center-less procedure for this !

If you want to reset your gmail account do you fill in a form and fax ?
Why can't they send to my email OR cellphone like MOST digital services !!
This is the stupidest thing I've EVER seen !!

Yes I know I'm a customer from hell ! But this is the sort of nonsense I will change my account over !

please tell us why you had to type out the thread title in full caps-lock ?
how can we take you serious at all with such a title ?

lastly did you try to phone support apart from email ?
have you looked in your control panel after you have logged in your account for such an option ?

yes, I've looked in my control panel I see a password change option ? Is this for the website ? for my email ? for my adsl ? Not at home can't check. ??
Hmm Caps, yes not the nicest way, was typing in anger !
Lol PHONE them. Got disc twice.

Wow dude, how did you miss the change password feature mweb has?

You sound like a customer from hell, one of those silly customers who blasts off in a rage only to look idiotic after they have gone mad. Although i am not sure if it changes your adsl password :D.

Yes I am one of those !
Why can't they COMMUNICATE what the password change is for ? are you sure it's for adsl ?

Why did they not tell me that in the first support email ?
So @killadoob, the password in the control panel is for ADSL ?

Soo https://www.mweb.co.za/services/MyAccount/Password/Default.aspx

So NO ONE can as of yet confirm if that password change is for a) Mweb's general webservice account, b) email c) Adsl ?

you do know we can all perfectly read without having words cap-locked ?,

however i do agree that that password change doesn't say dsl which leads me to believe it is your login account for your profile and not your dsl account. looking at my phone i guess you already tried 0860112252 ?

i can understand them needing some detail first before changing the password, but paper fill-out shouldn't be needed as it hasn't been with any other isp i've used before and those i'm still using.

maybe take count to 10, chill and try to sort out things rationally :erm:

There's this design term for GUI's if the user has to ASK where/how, the feature/button does not exist !
I'm also not impressed that the first support email I got from mweb did not mention I can reset it via THAT web interface, if indeed I can ?

I think change your account over hey.

Phone mweb dude. Tomorrow morning though might be a bit congested now :p

@Necuno. So I can't use ANY caps ANYWHERE ? .

dude seriously imho you look like a 10yr old typing like that who should rather be in school or something. do you see us capping our words for you to read better, to appear that we are shouting or maybe even angry ?

look like i've already said. i do i agree that that website should say clearly which password you are changing and maybe you should phone, ID yourself and try to get it sorted...

edit:
the help section's search could really use a make over so that the user are able to properly read through the results.

Your mweb user name and password is for adsl, mail, everything. Change it on the site, then change it on your mail prog settings, and change it on your router. Oh, and stop whining about it. It's not mweb's fault.

@Necuno. okey so no caps then. not even for new sentences i see. :)

@Grouter, lol then , who's fault is it ?

Well, erm, plainly, ummmm.......yours. You throw a hissy fit 'cos you didn't see "password" in the links on the left of your mweb account page? My face and my palm and...forget it.

Obviously MWeb requires the faxed documentation for security reasons to protect your account. You'd be rather angry if someone else managed to reset the password for your account over the 'phone.

No but you can be sure he would be moaning how useless mweb are for allowing some random person to change his password over the phone.

People like OP are clients you avoid like the plague or try to at least
