Hello

I subscribed today to Uncapped 4Mbits at MWeb.

Having told the sales representative that I am often in an out of the country for a few months, he told me that the easiest way of suspending Uncapped 4Mbits is to switch it to 1 GB data cap (with a limited cost or R29 per month).

On MWeb's control panel, I see nowhere how to do that switch automatically.

Do I need to phone MWeb and ask them to process this manually each time I want this ?

Morning fredgr

I received your PM and responded :)

Apparently, MWeb has no automatic way of downgrading. A phone call to their Sales department is required EACH TIME !!!... I mentioned that most ISP have upgrade/downgrade options available online on their control panel.

Also this morning, I have phoned MWeb for a future downgrade from Uncapped 4Mbits to Capped 1GB from 1st March 2013. They confirmed this over the phone.

They promised me a confirmation SMS that I have *Not* received.

I believe MWeb should really make all this fully automatic and integrated in the "My Account" section of their control panel...

All these steps of phoning, waiting, explaining, waiting for confirmation, ... is not a very efficient way of dealing with something that is quite simple and straightforward.

Funny that upgrading to a more expensive option seems possible on the "My Account" section of their control panel"... showing that the technical aspect of this procedure is not a problem.

It is maybe a voluntary trick for making downgrades a bit difficult ... not fair :)

Thanks!! Soooooo when you come back it will be easy to get back into the swing of things. It is just that they don't want you to leave! :-)

Hi Fredgr

Send me your MWEB details so that I can follow up on this and ensure that you do receive confirmation.

Why? Have you lost them from awhile ago?

Thanks to MWEB Guy, I finally have received the confirmation SMS of my downgrade, which I ordered over the phone on January 5th, 2013.

I have asked MWEB Guy to pressurize the billing department, so that downgrades can be applied for online and in an automated process. I cross fingers.
