I have logged a call with MWEB for a customer of mine, and I am wanting to know if others are experiencing this at the moment or have experienced it recently.
Since about 10am this morning 27/06/2012 MWEB have been returning NDR's (Non delivery reports) for emails sent by our mail server with the response being MWEB-RATE-LIMIT-DENY.
Apparently we have exceeded and hourly limit of 400 emails per hour (that's a fair limit I think).
Problem is that we keep getting the NDR as if the limit is not being reset.
Yes it could be a Virus as the mail server shows only about 40 emails sent since 9AM today, although some were marketing emails to many recipients, however those emails were sent about 10AM and they haven't sent to many recipients since. however the antivirus is up to date and the management console does not show any issues on the users' pc's at the moment.
Unfortunately the customer uses a MWEB MIG as a firewall/proxy and I have no view into that either to trace what is happening.
My gut feel is that this rate limit is not being reset every hour - any advice as I am in the dark waiting for MWEB to respond which by experience can be a very drawn out process requiring many phone calls.....and I have a very irate customer.
