Mweb / FON Router & Range extender setup

Ok, so I am new to Mweb - and subscribed to the Home 2mbps uncapped including the free Technicolor FON router and Zyxel range extender.

I signed up on 03/02/2014 and received my kit on 07/02/2014 - so I'm already impressed.

I followed the quick start guide by powering the router up and plugging my laptop in on port 1 via an ethernet cable in order to initiate the setup. The startup commenced and I saw the blue "update" LED light up and then nothing much happened after that.

I saw that an Mweb wifi connection became available on my cellphone and I managed to connect to it by means of the pin that was on the sticker in the router's box.

Now for the question:
Am I allowed to change the SSID and password on this connection (I managed to access the setup via 192.168.1.1) and can see that it is available? How does the separate FON channel broadcast (or is this it and I need to manually setup my home network?). I got so confused trying to figure it out that I just reverted back to my old Huawei router and the username and password which I previously received from Mweb.

AFAIK you are able to change it. The FON wifi is setup automatically and is not accessible through the routers configuration. it is pushed down from "Mweb/FON"

PS. the FON channel should appear as "MWEB FON"

To connect to Fon when I am overseas, what username/password do I use? We seem unable to use the Fon app, so it is looking pretty bad for MWeb. They also do not detail on their website how to actually use Fon overseas (The only reason why you would actually use this setup in your home)
