MWEB FON Speed Problems

Hi guys,

Since I installed the FON modem, it seems like everything slowed down, not that it was much better before.

I have a 4Mbps line, and just ran the following tracert to MWEB (attached). Please help as I am not sure how to interpret it.

I am also not sure if it is the WIFI or the dsl line, as I only use WIFI currently on 2 notebooks and 2 smartphones.

Running speedtest.net I get 0.93 down, 0.32 up and 519 ping from my notebook over WIFI.

The following testmy.net results which is insane:

Download :: 116 Kbps 14 kB/s
Your Speed :: 116 Kbps
94% slower than Your average Dallas, TX US ZA 1.9 Mbps
90% slower than your Host average 1.2 Mbps
91% slower than the ZA average 1.4 Mbps

Please help, I do not know where to start with this.

IIRC the FON package is limited to 2Mb?

Switched back to my TP-Link W8960N Router, and could see immediate improvement.

I still experience slowdown at what seem to be peak times. Is there any way to know if my exchange is congested?

I wonder if it might help moving to the MWeb Premium Uncapped ADSL (but its R300 more expensive).

Any suggestions please?
