Do designers develop in mind for such cases?

Bit flips can occur anytime, but most electronics (like consumer HDD's, but all enterprise grade hardware have it standard) have checking functionality to ensure data is recorded or read correctly like ECC ram and checksums in HDD's and network protocols. I think the only time where I have read about bit flips being this insane catastrophe and required stringent minimum hardware at a consumer level is in the latest FreeNAS and their ZFS file system, probably due to their software raid approach. Having all this checking is great if you have the cash for it, but I think your videos can survive having a few bits flipped.
