So, Mweb release uncapped ADSL, yay! NOT!
Mweb promise to only shape P2P... NOT!!

Whats the point of releasing uncapped ADSL, if for 18hours of the day you're going to Shape p2p, and rapidshare, and megaupload, and hotfile... these are all servers that I as an mweb uncapped subscriber should be able to download full speed from bar p2p...

I pay for my hotfile, rapidshare, and megaupload accounts every single month, why in gods name are you shaping those to?

Liars... just like the famous Telksum!

Their slogan should be...
Here download as much as you want, but you're gonna do it 1/8th slower then usual...

Nope.. sorry for you, you are unable to read....

MWEB do not lie, they shape non-essential traffic, aka p2p and http download sites..... this is in their T&C's... if you can't read them, its your own fault.

It does suck if you have paid accounts at rapidshare/hotfile etc but they've always shaped these services. You should've done your homework before you signed up.. duh.

Mweb sucks, it doesn't matter which way you look at it. Everything is about money for them - their local peering is a good example. They've cancelled peering with IS etc, now their clients are getting higher latencies as they've rerouted traffic. :wtf: And it is not like they are going to pass the savings on the end-user. Bunch of mofos

The best you can do, while you're with Mweb, is to use www.rapidleech.co.za (free transloader with 73 plugins currently) and perhaps a VPN account.

The worst part is people think its a good thing, and they did it a day after you can cancel your account

People can say what they want about TRL Tech, Cybersmart & Web Africa - they are the best ISPs in my opinion. I'm with TRL Tech for the last few months and I've never looked back. They are always friendly and willing to go that extra mile for a client. While Mweb technical support are not very helpfull and one have to send faxes for everything! I mean, it's not like we're living in the 1800's. All other ISPs accepts support tickets and e-mails but Mweb, who claims to be the biggest ISP, only accepts faxes. F!@#king idiots!

Is this really true? I haven't had any problems to report but does Mweb only accept support via FAX?? That would be the dumbest thing. I hope maybe an Mweb rep will respond. I mean, they should be able to help you with your issues via Email at the VERY LEAST if the phone call doesn't work...but just fax?? I hope for everyones sake you are mistaken because that would be a pain the...

I'm talking about when you want to change a password or wish to cancel the service. They offer their k@k support via e-mail and telephone.

You should really read about this from all the other commentators before posting.

They've actually started peering for free with IS. Clients of every ISP now get higher latencies, it just depends what you're accessing. News24/dstv/the rest of naspers and everything hosted on IS are now on one side, and Telkom/MTN/Vodacom who want to keep paid peering to the detriment of all users are on the other. But ye MWeb are just being greedy ;/ It's pretty damn obvious who we should support in this.

But ye their faxing is crazy. Who the hell has a fax machine at home anymore?

Not me :D

I've heard a week or 2 ago that Cybersmart and Mweb are now peering. Can anyone confirm this?

Just read it a day or two ago in one of the articles on MWeb's peering decision.

They're also both connected to the CINX/JINX (Internet exchanges where ISPs do their peering), but funnily enough MWeb and MTN Business are also both there. So MTN have no reason for not wanting to peer except that they'll lose money that they really shouldn't be getting.

Probably using Down Storm, TRL Tech Seedbox or AeroVPS with a VPN account :D

only the usual, filehosts, torrents and nzbs.
in terms of usage iv never gone below 300gb per month since the beginning and since the upgrades iv seen much better speeds, especially during the day. If you go onto a cesspool of leeches like tpb and expect to download torrents at max speed you've got another thing coming, dont blame mweb.

Actually mweb is the best uncapped there is. They don't throttle, and they don't cancel your account if you download 'too much......... on uncapped' like the other deceptive ISPs do.
With Mweb uncapped is uncapped, but its shaped most of the day, and they tell you this very clearly.

It is one thing to be misinformed, but please don't misinform others. And another thing, when you bandy wild insults around you should understand that it only reflects badly on yourself.
