To anyone who signed up for MWeb's new MTN Wireless Broadband package, beware of unexpected out-of-bundle data rates if you exceed your contracted package even if the website says you are still in-bundle.....

They still can't seem to get the data counter on the My Accounts page to work with any reasonable accuracy (and to be fair they do at least say so), but using a Dashboard and/or something like the excellent freebie NetMeter to monitor your usage, in combination with the MWeb My Accounts tally, you probably won't get anything like the actual figure they use for billing!

Last month they were more than 20MB out against my total AND the one on their website, which adds up nicely at R1.20/MB out-of-bundle! (And let's hope it really IS R1.20 -- the warning I got on the My Accounts page specified R5.20/MB -- Ouch!).

It really does continue to be ridiculous that prepaid users can enjoy an accurate reflection of their data use while contract customers, supposedly preferred customers, have to guess and hope for the best. Is it really that difficult a technical feat to achieve? I've also just been hit with an (incorrect) R900 bill for my first two months of a supposedly R199pm package, so where the hell's the incentive to move across from prepaid?
