Never had this issue before, but it started up this morning. Couldn't send emails directly from my email client, but could still receive, so I tried re-inputting my account details so it could search for the details automatically. Now it doesn't find the settings at all, not when searching for encrypted settings or unencrypted.

No idea what to do. Don't really want to be stuck using the email directly from the site either.

Anyone know what's up with the Mweb mail server? Usually it just finds the email settings once it starts searching unencrypted.

Hi Gaal

Our engineers are investigating the email outage.

The servers for MWEB is
Incoming: pop3.mweb..co.za
Outgoing: smtp.mweb.co.za

You can keep an eye on our outages here

Thanks for the clarification! Luckily it's nothing too important so I'll check it out again later this afternoon.

Hmm, I still can't seem to connect to the mail servers. It is unable to find the settings automatically, and when I try to set it up manually it gives me a login screen. When I input my email and password, it disappears for a few seconds, tries to log into the mail server, and then pops up the login details screen again.

It gives me the following error:

Log onto incoming mail server (POP3): Your e-mail server rejected your login. Verify your user name and password in your account properties. Under Tools, click E-mail accounts. The server responded: -ERR Authentication failed.

I've verified that the login details are correct, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Are you able to log in to message center with the account details?

Seems it's an issue with my password. It works for logging onto your site, but the moment I use it for email and ADSL it doesn't work. When I use my password my torrents and everything connect, but I can't access any webpages without it telling me my password is incorrect.

Busy trying a password reset, but it's going slow. Just want to say, Mweb, as far as password reset services go, the Mweb one is one of the most frustrating ones I've had to work with in my life. An hour later and I'm still unable to log into my account because my Mweb password is giving issues. Trying to reset again now.

I regret ever changing my password from 654321. :(

You can change your password on the mweb page under my account.

I would also suggest that you register for OTP, this will help in making the process a lot easier.
