I'm currently helping a friend set up their Deco units, and for the life of me, cannot get the IP address configuration to load when entering their Mweb credentials...

Has anyone managed to do this? What tricks do I need?

HI there, the Deco's uses the Deco App for setting it up, and not the Web UI with the Gateway IP.
Have you tried giving the app a go?

I only know how to set everything up in the app :X3:

I've followed the steps to the T, but nothing renders when submitting the username and password.

Have you tried resetting the Deco units back to factory defaults? Or uninstalling and re-installing the app?
Perhaps share some screenshots here (PPPoE details removed ofcourse) , then I can have a better idea of what you see?

What do you mean by this?

When going through the steps, after selecting PPPoE, you log in with the ISP creds... The Deco app accepts them, and then returns to this screen and populates the info....

This does not happen on my friends Mweb account...
(this is Cool Ideas)

MWEB is the same as any other ISP (they don't require any particular setup steps) with the only difference being that their fibre access/PPPoE username accepts any password. So it will look like there is a connection, but you will only be able to access www.mweb.co.za and other MWEB landing pages. Your friend should double-check their fibre access/PPPoE password.

yeah... that's what I've said... that said, apparently MWEB uses the same password for all access, and they can still log in...

A common misconception. To be fair, based on earlier ADSL days.
